Fashion books and fashion films aren’t new to any of us. From time to time we see post roundups on fashion books to read, fashion films to watch and so on. Honestly, i haven’t read any fashion book before but if i’m to pick up one right now, it will definitely be How to be Parisian and this is mainly because the book is very popular meaning it’s probably a good read, it covers more topics than fashion only and i also like the minimalist cover. I will probably also consider the #girlboss book just because i like any and every thing related to women bosses. Oh, lets not forget that they make good photography props ♥
I’ve seen a couple of fashion films and series or rather films and series noted for having lots of stylish outfits that fashionistas can be inspired by, the devil wears Prada, confessions of a shopaholic, single ladies, etc and i’m pretty sure there are a lot more i haven’t seen yet. Thanks to last week’s IFB links a la mode i discovered more fashion books and fashion films.

Truth is, i haven’t read any books besides my medical books in a very long time, i keep making lists but just never get around to picking up any of them. I guess that’s why i’m kind of indifferent about fashion books and fashion films, though i tend to watch films with notable fashionable outfits, i don’t choose them just because they are termed as fashion films.
Over to you, Have you read or watched any of the mentioned fashion books and fashion films? What do you think of fashion books and fashion films? Are they necessary, am i missing out or overhyped? Any Suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by as always.
Have a great week ahead and remember to come back every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for new contents.

*If you would rather spend your time writing/typing about fashion than read a fashion book or watch a fashion film, perhaps you need to create an editorial calendar.
Great options and I have heard amazing things about Girl Boss. Thanks for sharing and check out Fendi’s new look.

I’ve seen posts on the #girlboss so I guess it will live up to expectation. Thanks for stopping by.
I believe some are drastically over-hyped; Alexa’s Chung’s It comes to mind in that regards. However, I did receive Dita Von Teese’s Beauty Mark book as a gift, and find it a great read. You can tell she took a lot of time to put the book together, and her beauty secrets and tips aren’t just tidbits, but actual routines she describes in full detail, with photos, and scientific backing. I loved that her book wasn’t simply an ode to her and her glamour/sexuality, but rather a true, extensive guide on how you can begin to refine your own glamour routine ,and start to own your own sexuality. I highly recommend her book.

Thanks for the recommendation, really sounds like a good read.
I have to say I love them! I think fashion books make the best coffee table books. I have a Lauren Conrad on mine right now!

Lol, my thoughts about them because I see more posts with fashion books on coffee tables or used as an accessory in outfit photos than I see posts about actually reading them.
Great post 🙂

Interesting post. I haven’t really read a lot of “fashion books” per say, but I read #GirlBoss last year and yes, I recommend it. The Devil wears Prada book was also a damn good read and I actually love the book better than the movie! lol. As per usual 😀
I really would love to read How To Be Parisian though, it seems so highly recommended.
