Best drugstore foundation under $20, is there such thing as best? Well, you remember how i talked about my reasons for choosing cream foundations over fluid foundations, I must have either spoken too fast or the skincare routine has improved my skin more than i thought because the Revlon colorstay foundation climbed to the top of my best foundations list since the first week of January. It was first recommended by a friend even though I’ve seen it on different lists of good drugstore foundations but because of my past experience with the Mac prolongwear I wasn’t convinced i wanted another long-wearing liquid foundation till another friend of mine started using it and I noticed how flawless it looked on her….
This product has two types – for combination/oily skin and for normal/dry skin. I use the combination/oily type….
*Revlon’s description: Long-wearing coverage with Time Release Technology and a lightweight formula that won’t cake, fade, or rub off. Specifically made for combination or oily skin to control oil absorption and shine. Your look stays flawless throughout the day. This description is absolutely correct….
Pros
- This foundation doesn’t cake or rub off.
- It blends well with other foundations too, I’ve tried it with MAC’s studio fix fluid and they blended flawlessly.
- It’s long lasting, I wear it up to 12 hours some days and my face remains flawless without oil and shine till i wipe off my makeup.*P.s I use milk of magnesia to prime my t-zone.
- It leaves a matte flawless finish with medium buildable coverage.
- Range of colors to choose from for all complexions.
- It’s affordable, costs about $10 – $15.
Con
- It doesn’t come with a pump so no real control over how much content that comes out from the bottle and excess product can be wasted if not used up or stored properly. *Update – New ones from 2015 come with pumps,
This is the only challenging part for me but I’ve found a way around it. I pour out the product in my empty compact foundation container so that i can store it if i don’t use all at once
If you have an oily or combination skin and you are are looking for an affordable drugstore long-wearing foundation that leaves your face matte and flawless, i will recommend trying this foundation, it might not be the best drugstore foundation under $20 for everyone but from the other drugstore ones I’ve tried in the past and from other people’s reviews and opinion of it, i consider it the best.
You can find this foundation online on Drugstore | Target | Walgreens | Amazon

Colorstay is one of my fave foundations… I should try milk of magnesia, my t zone gets oily pretty quick.. Thnks for sharing 🙂
You would love milk of magnesia, the appropriate amount can keep you oil-free all day, be sure to moisturize like you would always do first, so that the skin wouldn't have to overcompensate for the drying effect, that helps me too.
Great review
