Happy Sunday lovelies, hope your weekend was great. Years ago pleated skirts were mostly seen on grandmothers/older women, secretaries or school girls and wasn’t regarded as being fashionable enough for the “cool kids”, In eastern part of Nigeria where i am from back in the day, some people called skirts like this “Mary amaka or Efe ndi sister”(basically meaning – clothes for active church workers/goers or something like that in a mockery form) with more reference to the Deeper life bible church because of their specific way of dressing.
Present day pleated skirts have become fashion statement pieces with designers like Suno re-inventing them in eye-catching graphics and colors. This is my 3rd midi skirt on the blog (check out the 1st and 2nd) A friend convinced me to buy it earlier this year, she said “Just buy this skirt, i know you can rock it, you might not like it now but you will like it later” now i’m glad i bought it. I styled it with the popular Zara African printed top with frills, hope you like the look…
