It’s becoming a habit for me to disappear from the blog and then return with an apology. Regardless, I’ll still apologize for my inconsistency. Hopefully, this post on how to wear prints to work featuring my work style jumpsuit will be the beginning of a more consistent me.
Lately, I’ve been opting for more work style fashion pieces because I realized I had more fashionable casual clothes than fashionable work clothes. Most of these aren’t suitable for the the type of work environments I’ve been finding myself in recently. You know, as you get older, your choice of fashion and style grows with you.
Talking of growth, I’ll be a year older on the 17th of November and I’ve certainly grown in all aspects of my life not just style and choice of fashion pieces. I still dress casually on some days but I’ve seen myself tilting towards more formal looks than casual.
My work style jumpsuit was inspired by one of Style Pantry‘s outfits. I love how she makes even the most basic outfit look classy. When I bought this fabric, I immediately thought of using it for an outfit I can wear to work, meetings and just about anywhere else.
I could have gone for a plain fabric but prints and colors always add the extra touch. As a lover of prints and colorful fashion pieces, I couldn’t resist. Currently, I’m working in a Govt staff clinic for my NYSC not a hospital where we cover our outfits with white coats the entire day. So, I have to dress appropriately but work style doesn’t have to be boring.
In the last one month, I also started working with an Abuja-based fashion brand owned by a long-time friend. Going through most of the collections has also made me reevaluate my style choices. There are so many classy and formal pieces, the type of pieces I want to be wearing but you’ll still see me buying some boho chic outfit afterwards, lol.
Just in case you see me wearing more formal pieces like this jumpsuit or any other work style jumpsuit, dress or two piece set, know that my style is growing with me. Honestly, it’s not so easy to stick to one style but some people are so good at it. I like more formal looking pieces but I also like to be comfortable.
Do you stick to one style? What style best describes you? The one time I asked this question about myself, most people answered boho chic. I don’t blame them, it was same period that I was rocking my kimono sets (kimono shorts outfit, kimono trouser outfit) regularly.
Oh, I almost forgot my hair! Did you notice how lovely my hair is? Well, let me answer before you even ask. I did jerry curls at the end of September and have been rocking my natural hair since then. If i got a kobo for every time someone asked me if I was mixed since I started rocking my curls, I would have hit a million naira by now, lol.

You are rocking this jumpsuit! Love the print and the wrap style is not only classic but timeless. I tend to be more casual and I don’t really get dressed up but if need be, I can switch gears. I just prefer to be casual and comfortable because it fits my lifestyle more. I hope you are having a great start of the week and happy Tuesday!
